Session 9 DFI Learning Log and Reflection
I sat my Google Educator Level One Exam today, of which I'm happy to say I passed - woohoo! It was a game of two halves featuring multi-choice questions and practical online tasks. Exam requires basic knowledge and use of Google Drive, Docs, Slide, Forms, Sheets and Google Plus.
If you've had experience using these platforms already and planning to sit your exam, you will be 'sweet as, bro'. For those who haven't, don't stress - I'd suggest using Google Suite in a way that supports your own administrative, teaching and planning needs. THIS will give you the confidence, experience and willingness to want to sit the test.
Lastly, I really enjoyed the opportunity to network and connect with others. I was originally keen to do the online from the comfort of my home but this was actually enjoyable working with others - enjoyed the laughs and banter! I liked learning about Manakaialani's history and pedagogy. I've never had a professional blog, so to be able to create one and have it going for the last term, for me that gave me the outlet I needed to share what I'd learned but also a chance to speak what was on my mind. I'm a reflective person so this was really good for me. All of the facilitators for this DFI have been excellent help and leads for the sessions I have been involved with. Knowledgeable, approachable, patient, helpful, funny, aware - they all seem to love what they're doing with DFI as much as being classroom educators.
